A fun weekend of Wine & Oysters!

Join the participating wineries of the Chesapeake Bay Wine Trail for a weekend of wine & oyster pairings. Each winery will offer a special oyster dish to pair with its wines.

Ingleside will be featuring 3 styles of oysters prepared onsite by the R&B Oyster Bar from Denson’s from 12-4pm both days. Denson’s is an award-winning, family-owned market and restaurant from Colonial Beach, VA. The menu will consist of: Raw Oysters; Fried Oysters; Oysters Denson (grilled and topped with Parmesan cheese and seasonings); Crab Cakes; Crab Dip; Clam Chowder (New England-style); Cheese Platters; and Mini Eclairs.

Live music will be featured in the courtyard all weekend. [Saturday 1-4pm: Justin Luke McCurry; Sunday 1-4pm: Pistol Sister (duo show)]

Normal wine tasting fees apply; oysters will be available for purchase. (Please note: This event takes place at participating wineries throughout the trail. )

Please note: Due to ABC licensing, Ingleside wine is the only alcohol beverage permitted on the premises. Absolutely no beer, liquor or other wine is allowed under any circumstance. Our courtyard is a smoke-free area. A convenient smoking section is available near the Pavilion (look for signs or ask a member of our staff for directions).

Help us recycle your oyster shells! Denson’s is a member of the Virginia Shell Recovery Alliance. Denson’s will have specially-marked containers available for shell recyling. Learn more about shell recycling here.

FAQ’s:

Q: Do I need tickets for the Oyster Crawl?
A: No, tickets are not needed for this event. This event will be “pay as you go.” Wine will be available for sale by the bottle and glass, and food will be available for sale at market rates. Wine tastings will be available in the Tasting Room for $8/person + tax (includes 8 wines and a logo glass).

Q: Will this event be held outdoors or indoors?
A: The food and music will be held in our outdoor courtyard (weather permitting). In case of inclement weather, we may move the event to our indoor Pavilion. Wine tastings will take place indoors in our Barrel Room.

Q: Are any special benefits available for Estate Club members?
A: Yes! Estate club members will receive a complimentary tasting at the event. Club members will receive their normal club discounts on any wine purchases at the event. Members also receive a discount on overnight stays in our cottages (advance reservation and 2 night minimum required).

Q: Can I use my Wine Trail tasting pass?
A: Yes! Trail wineries will be accepting the tasting pass during the Fall Oyster Crawl.

Q: I don’t like oysters. May I bring my own food in?
A: Several items are typically available for non-oyster eaters. We allow guests to bring food items but absolutely no outside alcohol may be brought in due to ABC licensing. We do ask that you help support our food vendors whenever possible as they take time away from their restaurants to provide delicious cuisine at our events.

Q: Are dogs welcome at the Oyster Crawl?
A: Yes! Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome in our outdoor courtyard and grounds during the Oyster Crawl.

Q: Is smoking allowed?
A: Smoking is not permitted in our indoor areas or our outdoor courtyard. We offer a convenient outdoor smoking area near our Pavilion (please follow signs or ask a member of our staff for details).

Q: Is lodging available in the area?
A: Ingleside offers overnight stays in two delightful guest cottages, The Pointe and Summerton, with advance reservation and a two night minimum. You can learn about additional lodging options from our tourism partners here.

Q: What other trail wineries are participating in the Oyster Crawl?
A: The Oyster Crawl takes places at participating wineries throughout our wine trail. You can view a list of participating wineries and their menus here.
