April is Virginia Vineyard Month!
Spring is finally arriving and April is a great time to visit Virginia wineries! Did you know there are over 270 wineries in Virginia? We’ll be celebrating Virginia Vineyard Month with a few big events of our own – including our Run the Vineyards 5k on April 15th and the Spring Oyster Crawl on the Chesapeake Bay Wine Trail on April 21st and 22nd.
Run the Vineyards will be our first 5k race at Ingleside. This will be a chip-timed run with prizes awarded after the race. Participants will be able to enjoy an after-party with live music by Matt McConville and food available for from The UFO Truck. Tickets include a tech shirt, a glass of wine and souvenir wine glass with a Run the Vineyards logo.
The Spring Oyster Crawl brings together two specialties from our region, wine and oyster! The event takes place at participating wineries throughout the Chesapeake Bay Wine Trail. At Ingleside, we will be featuring three types of oysters prepared on-site by the R&B Oyster Bar from Denson’s, an award-winning local restaurant. We will also have live music all weekend. The Atkinsons Trio will perform on Saturday and the Lewis Sluder Smith Acoustic Trio will perform on Sunday. (To see the full list of participating wineries and menus, visit the Wine Trail’s Event Page.)
